Product Description

Things you may need to know before purchase

The German flag is often flown in the UK, by businesses and for German celebrations and events. We manufacture all of our German flags to adhere to strict flag regulations. All of our flags of Germany are produced in house at our head office in Cambridgeshire, making sure that we produce all of our flags to the highest standard.

We have both sewn German flags and printed German flags available, allowing you to choose the best flag for your display requirements. Sewn German flags offer a higher quality and more traditional display solution. They are produced by our highly skilled sewing team, making sure they are produced to the highest quality. Sewn flags are more durable than our printed German flags option. All of our printed flags of Germany are produced in house using our advanced digital printers. This helps to ensure that all of our printed German flags feature vivid colours and crisp designs. Compared to our sewn German flags the printed versions are lower cost but less durable.

Both our printed and sewn German flags are produced using Spun Polyester. This is a traditional flag material and is longer lasting than our standard 115gsm Knitted Polyester. Spun Polyester is approved by the Ministry of Defence for all of their Naval flags, making sure they are all highly durable. Unlike most other manufacturers this helps to ensure our national flags look impressive and last longer.

We offer both our printed and our sewn German flags online. These are our standard Germany flags and are finished with a rope and toggle as standard. They are available in two sizes:

  • 0.7sqm
  • 1.5sqm

All of our German flags available to buy online are available with fast despatch and delivery as they are ready made and in stock. However, if you need a more bespoke German flag, including the size and finishing, then don’t hesitate to contact us.

We also offer a wide range of other German flag products, including:

Product Facts

Interesting Facts and Extra Information

The colours of the German flag symbolised efforts to unify the German states. It became the official flag of the Germany (then the Weimar Republic) in 1919. However in 1933 it was abolished and replaced with the Nazi Swastika. After the German defeat in World War II the tricolour flag was once again adopted as the national flag. East Germany used nearly the same flag, with a communist symbol displayed in the centre. However after the unification of West Germany and East Germany the tricolour flag of West Germany became the national flag once more.

The actual design of the German flag dates back to as early as 1778 and was popularised by the German Confederation in 1848, however when the Prussian King united Germany and became Emperor the flag was replaced with a black, white and red flag. This flag became known as the imperial colours and served until the defeat after the First World War.
